Priyanka Mohan Says Working With ‘Squid Game’ Star Park Hye-jin Was ‘Life-Changing,’ Reveals She’d Love to Collaborate With Lee Min-ho (EXCLUSIVE)

Netflix’s “Made In Korea” is gearing up for its release with Mohan playing the lead, a character who sets out on a journey both literal and metaphorical. Ahead of the film’s release, Mohan spoke to Variety India about her experience and the making of the project, which is largely set in Korea and brought together an international team.

During the conversation, Mohan also spoke about working with Park Hye‑jin, who is known for playing Cho Sang-woo’s mother in “Squid Game”. When asked whether the team had filmed “Made In Korea" before the finale of the Netflix series aired, Mohan clarified that the shoot happened after the show had already become a global phenomenon.

“Actually, we went there after ‘Squid Game’ was released. She didn’t reveal anything about the show to us. But I’m really glad she was part of the team. It was a special moment for all of us when she came on board,” Mohan said.

She went on to describe the experience of working with Park Hye-jin in "Made In Korea" as transformative, especially because of the rehearsal culture on the Korean sets.

“It was really a life-changing experience. In India, we don’t always have a reading and rehearsal culture, at least not for every film. Those sessions helped me a lot, especially because it was my first time acting with international actors,” she said

“They follow a very clear protocol and prepare much in advance. That preparation helped me become more natural in my performance. I learned a lot from them, and especially from her. She’s incredibly lively and energetic. Even at that age, she’s curious and childlike in the best way possible. That energy was contagious and I absolutely loved it. I’ve taken that spirit from her.”

When asked which Korean artist she would most like to collaborate with in the future, Mohan named several performers she admires.

“Honestly, there are many. Lee Min‑ho is huge and so good at everything he does, so why not? I don’t really have just one person in mind — anyone who is doing great films would be exciting to work with. I would also love to collaborate with Park Bo‑gum, who plays young Yang Gwan-sik in ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’, and several others.”

“Made In Korea” is set to release on March 12, 2026.
