The film was earlier rumoured to be a remake of Atlee and Thalapathi Vijay's 2016 Tamil film, "Theri". However, the trailer has no similarity to that film, clearly indicating that it's a new script that presents Pawan Kalyan in yet another mainstream character.
Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" is scheduled to release in cinemas on March 19, 2026 — clashing in theatres with Ranveer Singh's most awaited action thriller, Dhurandhar 2.
