Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub Speaks Up About The Controversial ‘Chauhaan’ Teaser Quote: ‘Asked to Dub Without Reference’
Actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub is speaking out against the usage of his voice in the teaser for Ajay Devgn-starrer upcoming film, “Chauhaan”. In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) on July 22 at around 2 am, he wrote about not being aware of where the quote he dubbed for would be used or in which context and emphasized that it was only done in good faith. Sharing that it was his friendship with the makers that led to the collaboration, he doubled down on not condoning the usage of his voice in the way it was done.

Taking to his social media account, the “Tanu Weds Manu: Returns” actor wrote, “Few weeks back, a film teaser released with the opening line in my voice. I wish to put on record that I am not part of the film in any capacity.” Sharing that he had no idea about the kind of visuals that would accompany his voice in the teaser, the actor added, “I was asked to dub a line without any reference a few months back. I did that in good faith without asking for more as I knew the makers personally.“
Deciding to take the steps to distance himself from the project, he opened up about asking to take it down. “As soon as the teaser was released and I saw the context in which it was (mis)used, I asked the filmmakers to remove my voice from the teaser as I have nothing to do with the film. After my strong objection, the makers removed my voice from the teaser fifteen days ago. Though this will clarify my position as an artist who would never be a part of any such project…”
The “Chauhaan” teaser ran over Amitabh Bachchan's song “Jumma Chumma De De” from the 1991 film “Hum.” It displayed visuals of a protest with tear gas, pellet guns and water cannons being used until Ajay Devgn enters the scene.
