For fans of James Beaufort and Ruby Bell of “Maxton Hall,” Christmas has come early. The German YA sensation starring Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung is the most-watched international original series on Prime Video. And the streamer’s latest announcement might just up the ante. A new feature on the platform will now allow users to watch all seasons of the series, including the upcoming third and final season, in English with lip-synced dubbing.

With the first two seasons already a fan obsession and the final season arriving on December 9, 2026, Maxton Hall is poised to have quite the audience tuned in to watch the conclusion, maybe even revisit the entire series to prep for the finale. And now, with AI and VFX technology that synchronizes actors' lip movements with human-dubbed audio, the experience of watching is certainly enhanced and made more receptive to a global audience. This same technology was spotted in the dubbed trailers for Nitesh Tiwari’s “Ramayana,” produced by Namit Malhotra of DNEG.

Variety India was privy to a short clip treated with this new feature, which demonstrated the seamless visuals and the audio sync-match with the actors’ lips. In his statement, Raf Soltanovich, vice president of technology at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, said, "With lip-syncing, we're creating a more seamless and immersive way for customers to enjoy global content. And for creators, we're making it easier for their stories to reach an even broader and global audience, all done under creative oversight to ensure the integrity of their artistic vision is preserved."

The streamer has also indicated plans to expand this dubbing technology eventually to its other titles. The announcement comes in the wake of the streamer’s “Obsessed Retreat” in Europe, where the cast of Prime Video’s upcoming YA and NA (New Adult) film and show slate (including “Maxton Hall”, “The Love Hypothesis,” “Drawn Together” and the Ananya Panday starrer “Call Me Bae”) gathered to drop first looks and new reveals about their titles.

“Maxton Hall” Season 3 is based on the author Mona Kasten’s 2018 novel, “Save Me”, and will see Ruby try to prove her innocence with the help of James before it is too late for her to achieve her dream of studying at Oxford University. Leads Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten return alongside Sonja Weiber as Lydia, Eidin Jalali as Graham, Ben Felipe as Cyril, Fedja van Huêt as Mortimer, Runa Greiner as Ember, Justus Riesner as Alistair, Govinda Gabriel as Kesh, Andrea Guo as Lin, Frederic Balonier as Kieran, Eli Riccardi as Elaine and Dagny Dewath as Ophelia.
