Karan Aujla’s Mumbai fans get a ‘2.0’ concert to make up for Holi shortcomings
In a move that could essentially prove that audience feedback is heard and acted upon in real-time, Karan Aujla and Team Innovation, the promoters of his P-Pop Culture India Tour have announced a special 'return concert' for residents of Mumbai. Called ‘Karan Aujla P-POP Culture India Tour - Mumbai 2.0’, it has been scheduled for April 12, 2026.
The newly announced pitstop forms part of Aujla’s 10-city P-POP Culture India Tour, which has already seen strong audience turnouts in Delhi and Pune. The tour will continue across Chandigarh, Indore, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Ludhiana through March and April.
So, what happened?
Some ticket holders to the Mumbai concert on Holi (Mar. 3, 2026) held at MMRDA Grounds, took to social media to complain about attending a day concert with no shaded areas, unavailability of free drinking water and no sale of alcohol. There was even much made about the stage backdrop. Those who caught Aujla at his Delhi and Pune gigs made it a point to point out to Mumbai ticket holders what they missed out on.
Lessons learned
Siddhesh Kudtarkar, Co-Founder, Team Innovation stated, “We have taken full cognisance of the audience feedback from the Mumbai event and acknowledge that additional shaded areas and hydration points could have further enhanced guest comfort at the venue. This feedback is important to us and will be incorporated into the planning of future events."
However...
Siddhesh also feels that most accounts didn't offer an accurate representation of what happened. He says, "The concert was conceived and promoted as a daytime Holi-themed festival at an open-ground venue, and the format, timing and venue environment were clearly communicated across all promotional platforms prior to purchase. The weather conditions on the day affected not only fans but also the artist and the on-ground operational teams, as these are natural factors beyond our control.”
He added that drinking water was available for purchase at multiple designated counters across the venue. “We intentionally didn’t factor in complimentary hydration centres which is a norm at all our events given the nature of Holi celebrations where water is often used for non-consumption activities. The non-service of alcohol was due to a directive issued by state authorities applicable across Maharashtra and not specific to this event, and guests who had purchased lounge access where beverage service formed part of the hospitality package were issued a 25% refund.”
What's being promised now
"A global, state-of-the-art production environment, designed to elevate the scale, technology and overall immersion of the performance," said a press note.
Mohit Bijlani, Co-Founder, Team Innovation added, “We felt the most meaningful way to respond was with a gesture of gratitude to the fans. Karan Aujla Mumbai 2.0 is designed as a fan appreciation concert dedicated to those who supported the tour’s Mumbai debut.
Stated Aujla, “I want every fan to know they are valued, acknowledged and respected. For everyone who came out to celebrate with us, we’re coming back to create magic again and this time, it’s going to be one wild party."
What this means
"Active ownership of the audience experience" signals the acknowledgement that something was lacking at the Mumbai gig. By personally committing to return for a fresh concert experience, Karan Aujla and the promoters are demonstrating a fan-first approach to live entertainment. There is perceived intent to prioritize transparency and accountability.
What now?
Original ticket holders from the March 3 concert in Mumbai will get access to the 2.0 concert without any ticketing charge, marking (possibly) the first time a fully executed concert in India is being followed by an entirely new performance for the same audience. From what we're hearing, over 30,000 registrations have already been recorded for new ticket buyers on the official ticketing platform for the event.
What changes
General Access (GA) & VIP ticket holders will receive Silver category access, Fan Zone Left & Fan Zone Right ticket holders will receive Gold category access, P-Pop Pit ticket holders will receive the same P Pop Pit category access while 'King of Good Times Lounge' ticket holders will receive the same lounge category access, including full hospitality benefits as originally committed. Anyone wishing to upgrade can pay the difference amount and new tickets will be issued.
New prices
A limited inventory of tickets will be released on the official ticketing platform at 12 pm IST on March 8. Ticket categories and prices for new ticket buyers are: Silver: ₹2,999, Gold: ₹6,999, P-Pop Pit: ₹29,999 and King Of Good Times Lounge: ₹14,999
