Indo Warehouse Drops New EP Featuring Umer Piracha, Saqib, Naayaab Where Melodic Techno Meets Sufi Classic
“Mast Qalandar,” is one song that has been made iconic by many singers in the Indian subcontinent. The song originally attributed to the poet Amir Khusro was later modified by Bulleh Shah. From late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to Runa Laila, many singers have rendered immortal versions of the sufi song.
Indo Warehouse, the US-based global house and techno music collective has created a new version of the classic. Their collaborators include Brooklyn-based producer Saqib, Multan-rooted Sufi vocalist Umer Piracha, and Mumbai-based artist Naayaab. “Mast Qalandar/Junoon” has a completely new sound and will bring people straight to the dance floor. The new EP has three tracks, "Mast Qalandar," "Junoon," and "Mast Qalandar (Dub Mix)."
