HBO Unveils ‘Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’ Teaser, Confirms Christmas 2026 Release
HBO has finally revealed the first look teaser of what is probably its biggest show of the year, the “Harry Potter” series now titled "Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone". Helmed by Francesca Gardiner, the series, which is set to release in 2027, will feature an all new ensemble and focus on a very young Harry at Hogwarts, with all the fan favourite and some new characters joining him.
The "Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone" will feature Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, who will together form the backbone of the series. The cast will also include names such as John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.

The first look takes audiences into the world of Hogwarts, teasing a completely new perspective on the wizarding school. The production design is by Mara LePere-Schloop, known for her work on “Interview With the Vampire” and “Pachinko.” The show will set up the story of Potter again as the teaser captures Harry getting the letter from Hogwarts and his journey to the school and learning about his parents.
The series is being produced by HBO, Warner Bros. Television, and Brontë Film and TV. Francesca Gardiner, known for “Succession” and “Killing Eve,” will serve as the writer and executive producer. Mark Mylod is set to direct multiple episodes, with J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman serving as executive producers.
