‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ Cast: Who’s Playing Whom in The Upcoming HBO Show?
After the conclusion of JK Rowling’s beloved fantasy novel “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” in 2011, the iconic characters from Hogwarts are ready to reopen the doors for fans with HBO’s new show “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”
HBO is now developing the Harry Potter books as a TV and streaming show. Ahead of the Christmas 2026 release, the makers dropped the teaser of the first season showcasing Harry’s childhood at his abusive uncle and aunt’s house, until he comes to know about his true identity and of his deceased parents.
The 129-second promo features the fresh cast, including Harry’s best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, along with the headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore.
Here’s the cast guide of who’s playing who in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone:
Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter

The Young Actor will play Harry Potter, which gave Daniel Radcliffe global fame for portraying this iconic character.
Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger

Arabella will feature as Hermione, one of the smartest students in Hogwarts and one of Harry’s two close friends.
Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley

Alaistar’s Ron is Harry’s best friend and a member of the Weasley wizarding family.
John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore

John’s character is the headmaster of Hogwarts and one of the most powerful wizards.
