‘Dragon’ Composer Ravi Basrur On Prashanth Neel, Jr NTR’s Action Film (EXCLUSIVE)

Music composer has worked on big budget action films like "KGF," "Salaar" in the past. As of now, he is focused on Yash's "Toxic," and Jr. NTR's "Dragon." The composer is known for his BGMs that make every mass elevation scene look insane on the big screen. Prashanth Neel has been juggling between "Dragon," and "Salaar 2," two massive films mounted on a huge budget with top stars. The expectations are high as Ravi Basrur has given bangers for his movies with Neel. Talking to Variety India, Ravi Basrur said, "It is always wonderful to work with him. As a filmmaker, he is very sure of what he wants in terms of the BGM or the music. Neel knows his scenes in and out. This is why we work well together."

He tells us that while it might be inappropriate for him to talk about the movie, it is shaping up very well. It seems the shooting is on at a brisk pace as they prepare for "Dragon" to hit the marquee in 2027. We also asked him who out of Yash, Prabhas and Jr. NTR was most involved in the music of their films? "I would say they are passionate about films (Laughs). And they do discuss some aspects when we meet but it is the director's call," he says. Basrur also says that they have the craziest and best fandoms in South India. While it might seem overwhelming, he enjoys all the love that comes in abundance.

He is also extremely attached to his roots in Karnataka. Basrur tells us, "I grew up in Kundapur and music was a part of every household. But more than film songs, it was bhajans that were played every morning and evening. I developed my love for music from there. Till date, I love listening to that music the most."

While he has worked a lot with Neel, Basrur is also very active in the Kundapura region of Karnataka. He has set up a music studio and worked in movies made in the local dialect. He has given the background music for "Toxic," and has composed one song as well.

"Dragon" also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Tovino Thomas and Anil Kapoor.
