He aptly credits the audience response to the film for the enthusiasm around a sequel. “The kind of response we got for Madgaon was so… I mean, it's got a cultish sort of a following. I'm not gonna use the word ‘cult’, because it's (the film) too new. It still has to grow and age well. But yeah, people are really excited about that film.”
Produced by Excel Entertainment, “Madgaon Express” did leave the door wide open for a sequel in its epilogue, when Divyenndu’s character Dodo arrives at his friend Ayush’s (Tiwary), demanding they take a trip to Las Vegas, a year after their adventures in Goa. With Dodo having won a lottery, and their friend, Pinku (Gandhi), all set to marry his girlfriend, Mariam, the sequel could take “The Hangover” route with the three friends partying in Vegas for Pinku’s bachelor’s.
For now, Divyenndu is eager for fans to experience “Mirzapur: The Movie” on the big screen when it arrives on September 6, 2026, and binge-watch his new series, “Glory”, arriving on Netflix on May 1, 2026. “Glory” is set against the backdrop of Haryana’s obsession with securing Olympic gold in boxing. Divyenndu plays ‘Dev’, the estranged son of a legendary boxing coach, who is forced to return to his hometown after a brutal attack on his family. The cast also includes Pulkit Samrat, Suvinder Vicky, Ashutosh Rana, Sayani Gupta, Jannat Zubair Rahmani, Sikander Kher, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma and others.
