Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s Music Rights Sold To T-Series In One Of The Costliest Deals Yet (EXCLUSIVE)

No one was prepared for the storm Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, unleashed at the box office in December 2025. Directed by Aditya Dhar, who returned to filmmaking after a six-year-long hiatus, the film is now gearing up for its sequel, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The buzz around the project remains untamed, with the frenzy only continuing to multiply. Amid this charged atmosphere, it is the tug of war over the film’s music rights that has caught industry attention.

While Saregama picked up the music rights for the first part (2025), the trade was taken by surprise when the rights shifted to T-Series for the sequel (2026). The move raised several eyebrows, especially with no immediate clarity on what prompted the switch. However, Variety India has exclusively learned that the music rights deal between T-Series and Jio Studios has turned out to be one of the most expensive in Hindi cinema.

According to our sources, the music rights for Dhurandhar: The Revenge have been sold to the Bhushan Kumar-owned music label for a figure estimated to be between ₹50–60 crore, making it one of the costliest music rights deals in the history of Hindi cinema. The music album of the Ranveer Singh-led first film emerged as one of its biggest USPs upon release. A heady mix of nostalgia, catchy beats, and adrenaline-fuelled tracks struck the right chord with audiences, turning almost every song into a chartbuster.

Speaking about the shift from Saregama to T-Series, another industry insider revealed that Saregama’s agreement was tied to a fixed number of songs used in the first instalment — a common practice, as such deals are often structured around the number of tracks per album. No official statement or comment has been issued by the parties involved so far.

Meanwhile, the first teaser of Dhurandhar: The Revenge dropped today and has been receiving a strong response. The teaser highlights a narrative shift, placing Hamza, played by Ranveer Singh, at the centre of this universe following the events of the first film. Also starring Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, and an ensemble cast, the film is slated to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.
