‘Dhurandhar 2’ Weekend Box Office: Ranveer Singh-Aditya Dhar’s Film Goes Past ₹400 Crore, Sets New Industry Benchmarks
“Dhurandhar: The Revenge” is a box office rampage. What India's theatres witnessed over the four-and-a-half-day weekend was an unprecedented storm, to say the least. Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh's action spectacle has not only shattered the existing records but has also set new milestones, achieving numbers termed impossible and unheard of before.
“Dhurandhar 2” has collected an astounding ₹406.41 crore net in Hindi and ₹426.11 crore net across all languages in India over the 4-day extended weekend, including paid previews. This makes it an all-time biggest opening weekend for a Bollywood title. The dubbed version in Tamil contributed ₹6.70 crore, while the Telugu version added ₹12.38 crore. The Malayalam and Kannada versions, however, failed to cross even ₹50 lakh marks. Globally, the film has grossed over ₹700 crore, emerging as the biggest ever opening weekend for a Bollywood film and the second biggest for any Indian film, trailing only “Pushpa 2: The Rule."
Within just four days of its release, the film has already emerged as the biggest blockbuster of the year, surpassing Sunny Deol's “Border 2," which had earned approx. ₹329 crore net in January. The film has also become the highest-grossing film ever released during the Eid festival, overtaking the benchmark earlier held by Salman Khan's 2015 human drama, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” (₹320.34 crore net). Additionally, “Dhurandhar 2” now stands as the biggest Bollywood blockbuster ever in the month of March. The all-time March record for an Indian film is currently held by S.S. Rajamouli's “RRR” (₹782.20 crore net), which “Dhurandhar 2” will easily overtake in the coming days.

Given the hype and excitement surrounding the film, the box office was ready for a roar. But it was not ready for what has unleashed — a once-in-a-lifetime box office carnage. A historic theatrical phenomenon that might stay unchallenged for years.
Right from the premiere, “Dhurandhar 2” started setting new benchmarks, breaking the previous records by margins rarely seen before. On March 18, the film earned ₹44 crore net just from the paid premiere shows, more than double the previous highest premiere day collection record of “They Call Him OG” (₹21 crore net). On the first day of its full-fledged release on Thursday, the film recorded the biggest opening day benchmark with 80.52 crore (Hindi). It then set a new Day 2 record with ₹74.81 crore net on Friday.
The box office witnessed a never-seen-before mayhem on its third day when “Dhurandhar 2” collected a staggering ₹103.87 crore net in Hindi, becoming the first-ever Bollywood film in history to cross the ₹100 crore milestone in a single day. Taking it one step further, the film repeated the same history the very next day on Sunday, with ₹103.21 crore net. Hindi cinema had never seen a ₹100-crore single-day collection, and here “Dhurandhar 2” has stormed past that number two days in a row. This is insane to say the least.
The weekend numbers, however, are nothing compared to what the film is targeting ahead. Ranveer Singh's film is not slowing down anytime soon, with the box office mayhem expected to continue over the weekdays too. The film is eyeing approx. ₹50 crore today on a normal working day and close to ₹600 crore Hindi net over the opening week, further cementing its place in cinematic history.
