‘Dhurandhar 2’ Gets a Fresh Competition From Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ on March 19

By Sakshi Navare

Pawan Kalyan's much-awaited Telugu film, "Ustaad Bhagat Singh," has preponed its release date by a week and will now hit theatres on March 19, clashing at the box office with Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar's most-anticipated "Dhurandhar: The Revenge."

The move comes after Yash postponed the release of "Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups" to June 4, 2026. Seeing no other film scheduled for that date, Kalyan's film immediately moved to the date to benefit from the festive Ugadi and Eid weekend. Producer Mythri Movie Makers took to Twitter to officially announce the new date.

"Ustaad Bhagat Singh" is said to be an adaptation of Atlee and Thalapathi Vijay's 2016 blockbuster, "Theri," which was also remade in Hindi as Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan in the lead. The dramatic action entertainer revolves around a former police officer who embarks on a mission to protect his daughter from his past enemies. Sreeleela, Raashii Khanna and Ashutosh Rana also star in pivotal roles in this film, directed by Harish Shankar, widely known for helming films like "Gabbar Singh," "Duvvada Jagannadham" and "Mr Bachchan."

The clash between "Dhurandhar 2" and "Ustaad Bhagat Singh," however, will be nowhere close to the showdown "Dhurandhar 2" and "Toxic" promised. The makers of the Pawan Kalyan film are eyeing a small release in the Hindi belts, with their entire focus being in the Telugu market.
