‘Dhurandhar 2’ First Day Worldwide Box Office: Ranveer Singh-starrer Crushes ‘Jawan,’ ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Animal’ To Become The Biggest Bollywood Opener
After crushing records in the preview shows, Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar 2 took a historic opening on Thursday (March 19). With 154.38 crore in the domestic market and 64 crore at the overseas box office, the spy actioner stands at a total of massive 218.38 crore globally. It has shattered the records of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” (129.06 crore) and “Pathaan” (106 crore) and Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal” (116 crore) to become the biggest Bollywood global opener of all time.
Talking about the top Indian openers across the globe, “Dhurandhar 2” has grabbed the third position after Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2” (275.20 crore) and Jr NTR-Ram Charan’s “RRR” (223 crore), with just edging past Prabhas’s “Baahubali 2” (217 crore).

With the exceptional word-of-mouth, the film is expected to cross the 500 crore mark in its extended opening weekend at the global box office.
The film is set to enjoy an open window at the box office until the arrival of “Bhooth Bangla,” which marks the reunion of director Priyadarshan and actor Akshay Kumar after “Hera Pheri,” “Garam Masala,” “Khatta Meetha” and “Bhagam Bhag.”
Directed by Aditya Dhar of “Uri: The Surgical Strike” and “Dhurandhar” fame, the movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera, Danish Iqbal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, among others. The editing department of the film is handled by Shivkumar V. Panicker, while the music is composed by Shashwat Sachdev.
