‘Dhurandhar 2’: Danish Iqbal Reveals, ‘It Used to Take Nine Hours To Do the Makeup’ To Transform Into Dawood Ibrahim (EXCLUSIVE)

While Ranveer Singh-starrer “Dhurandhar 2” is currently creating mayhem at the global box office, actor Danish Iqbal is garnering praises for his portrayal of Dawood Ibrahim in Aditya Dhar-directed spy actioner.

However, it was not an easy task for the actor as the prosthetics and make-up required long hours for his transformation into Dawood. “It used to take 9 hours to do the make-up and then 3 hours to remove the make-up. So, not less than 10 to 12 hours. That make-up part was very challenging, but that's our job. We have to be prepared for everything. It was an interesting but tiring process, and if that's my job, then I have to prepare mentally and physically for that. And if you're getting this kind of appreciation and reward, then it's worth it,” shares Danish while talking to Variety India.

The actor praises Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Aditya Dhar for their traits and personalities. “Aditya (Dhar) sir is very considerate, warm, and he knows what he wants from his actors. He was very particular about the scene and was very clear in his mind about how a scene should come out. At the same time, he gives you that liberty and space, which every actor needs and requires to pull off a great performance. So that you can do whatever and the nuances you want to add in the scene and character, staying within the framework. I think it's a great joy to work with Aditya Dhar, and I would love to work with him as many times as possible,” says Iqbal.

Calling Ranveer a "lovely human being with great energy,’ Danish shares that the set “Dhurandhar 2” was filled with creativity.

“These kinds of films are made in a century or maybe in a decade once. I'm really proud to be a part of this film and I'm thankful to God and to everyone that I'm part of this cinema,” the actor concludes.

“Dhurandhar 2” also features Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun, among others, in pivotal roles.
