‘Chand Mera Dil’ Teaser Review: Lakshya-Ananya Panday’s Intense Love Story Has ‘Saiyaara’ and ‘Kabir Singh’ Hangover
After days of anticipation, the teaser of the Lakshya and Ananya Panday-starrer "Chand Mera Dil" has finally been released. The youthful love story taps into intense emotion and features melodic and evocative music.
The teaser presents energetic romance and emotional vulnerability, suggesting an unconventional narrative. The repeated line, “Not every first love gets a second chance,” hints at a potential tragic or bittersweet twist.
While the teaser hits the right chord, somehow you can’t shake the feeling that it uncannily reminds one of Shahid Kapoor-Kiara Advani’s “Kabir Singh” and Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda’s “Saiyaara,” given its placement of music and characterization of lead stars.

However, the fresh pairing of Ananya and Lakshya looks natural and complementary to the romantic drama, which is raw and deep. Just like “Saiyaara,” “Chand Mera Dil” has the potential to click with youth, especially college students.
Bankrolled by Dharma Productions, with Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Marijke Desouza as producers, the film is directed by Vivek Soni, known for "Meenakshi Sundareshwar" and "Aap Jaisa Koi".
The director has also contributed to the story and screenplay alongside Tushar Paranjape and shared dialogue credits with Akshat Ghildial and Tushar Paranjape.
The title soundtrack in the glimpse is composed by the duo Sachin-Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and vocals by Faheem Abdullah.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 22 and will clash with “Bandar” and “Tera Yaar Hoon Main.”
