‘Born Guilty’: Park Seo-jun, Um Taegoo, Jo Hye-joo’s Crime Drama Confirmed For 2027
After “Surely Tomorrow,” Park Seo-jun (Park Seo-joon) will be back with ‘Born Guilty.” The Korean drama star known for his work in romcoms like “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” is all set for a gritty crime drama now. Joining him in the main cast are actors Um Taegoo and Jo Hye-joo. Disney+ unveiled pictures from the script-reading session along with the announcement that it is coming in 2027.
In the pictures, we can see that Park Seo-jun has grown his hair for the role. The name of the character is Paeng, a character who enters into a Seoul locality gripped by the redevelopment fever. It is set in the time of the 1988 Seoul Olympics. It seems the series will have just eight episodes. The screenplay and direction of the series will be handled by Hong Won-chan who helmed the movie, “Deliver Us From Evil.” Um Taegoo is playing the role of a seasoned gangster while Park Seo-jun is a local thug who has ambitions to rule over the underworld.
Park Seo-jun has described it as a role he has never played before. He took up this challenging role to show his fans a new side of himself. We have seen Um Taegoo in shows like “My Sweet Mobster,” “Light Shop,” “Hometown,” to name a few. Disney+ is known for its lavish productions like “Tempest,” in 2025 that brought Gang Dong-won and Jun Ji-hyun together in a political thriller. Their recent release “Climax,” is also getting good reviews. They have announced the second season of “Moving,” and “Born Guilty” is another big addition.
