You ended 2025 with a success (‘Tere Ishk Mein’) and started 2026 with a banger (‘Border 2’). How does it feel to be part of back-to-back blockbusters?
It feels great. I was waiting for this time for 11 years. Finally, I can see the flowers blooming. But one thing I always keep saying to myself is that this is just the beginning because there’s a long way to go. I want to be a star, and God is showing me the path and helping me in every step I take. I am very grateful.
Have you ever been intimidated by any of your co-stars, as both films have stalwarts like Prakash Raj, Dhanush and Sunny Deol?
Hahaha, not on the film sets. Till now. But this happened on a series I was shooting; I will not take the name. But there was one actor who started directing me. Even the director was present, and no one said anything. That moment didn’t feel right. I think everyone should do the jobs they are assigned to and not interfere in other people’s work. As an actor, it’s always good to discuss things with the co-actor, but not to direct what he or she should do.
Your camaraderie with Varun Dhawan and gang was one of the highlights. Did the friendship off-screen translate onto the big screen?
Yes, totally. Offscreen, we used to have so much fun, that’s why our team looks the best onscreen. That's what everyone is saying. It was a pleasure to work with Varun Bhai. Such an innocent soul and a wonderful human being.
Which were the toughest scenes for you to shoot in 'Border 2' and 'Tere Ishk Mein'?
The toughest thing was to dub for the action sequences. I always used to say while dubbing ‘shoot karna easy hai aur dub karna mushkil’. And shooting, I love. If people say it is going to be a difficult scene, I get even more excited as an actor. Talking about Tere Ishk Mein, Oh god! Such a relaxed shoot I had. No stress at all. Aanand L Rai sir, is a genius.
Do you feel social media trolling impacts the box-office?
Yes, it does. Because people on social media need views, and no one is bothered about the stakes at which they are coming in. But today’s generation is influenced by social media, so it will always have an impact on our lives.
What's the status on 'Black Warrant 2'?
"Black Warrant" is a brilliantly made show, and good shows usually have second seasons. So yes, you could hear about it anytime in the next few months.
