Bharath-starrer ‘Kaalidas 2’ Averts Clash With Pradeep Ranganathan’s ‘LIK’; Locks A New Release Date
By Sakshi Navare
Bharath and Ajay Karthi-starrer “Kaalidas 2,” which was scheduled to release on April 3, has been postponed by a week at the ticket windows. The decision was taken by the producers after the release date announcement of “LIK” (“Love Insurance Kompany”).
With the Pradeep Ranganathan-starrer arriving on April 3, the makers of “Kaalidas 2” have now shifted to April 10 to avoid a box-office clash.
The sequel, like its predecessor “Kaalidas” (2019), is an investigative thriller, directed by Sri Senthil and bankrolled by Dr N Yogeshwaran along with Five Star Senthil under their Sky Pictures banner. The film also marks the return of Sangeetha Madhavan to Kollywood after 26 years. Her last Tamil release was Kann “Thirandhu Paaramma” (2000).
“Kaalidas 2” will now lock horns with the Selvaraghavan-starrer, “Manithan Deivamagalam”
Talking about “LIK,” the science fiction romantic comedy is written and directed by Vignesh Shivan, who previously helmed “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,” “Thaanaa Serndha Koottam” and “Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.”
Since Pradeep Ranganathan’s last two films, “Dragon” and “Dude” have grossed over 100 crore at the global box-office, the makers have expectations from “Love Insurance Kompany” and the actor's loyal fanbase.
Also starring S. J. Suryah, Krithi Shetty, Yogi Babu, Seeman, Gouri G Kishan, Shah Ra, Malavika, Mysskin, Anandaraj and Sunil Reddy in key roles, the film is jointly-produced by Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studio.
The music of “LIK” is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with the editing department handled by Pradeep E. Ragav.
