Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bandar’ Shifts to June 5, Set to Clash With Yash’s ‘Toxic’ at the Box Office

The early June release calendar has undergone a notable shift. Anurag Kashyap’s "Bandar" has moved from its previously announced May 22 release date to June 5. The change places it in direct proximity to Yash-starrer “Toxic”, which is scheduled to arrive in theaters a day before, on June 4.

The revised timeline brings both titles into the same release window, with just a one-day gap between them. "Bandar" marks Kashyap’s latest directorial project, while "Toxic" is positioned as a major theatrical release led by Yash. Both films are expected to open across Indian markets.

The move from May 22 to June 5 results in a delay of approximately two weeks for "Bandar." At the time of writing, no official reason has been disclosed for the change in release date. The new slot places the film within a busy early summer corridor that typically sees multiple releases across languages. It stars Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra in leading roles.

"Toxic" continues to hold on to its previously announced June 4 date. The film has been scheduled for a wide theatrical rollout and is among the key releases lined up for the period.

With both films arriving within the same weekend frame, they will share exhibition space across multiplexes and single-screen theaters.

Final screen counts, show allocations and advance booking timelines are expected to be confirmed closer to release, in line with distributor and exhibitor planning. Further announcements regarding marketing campaigns and distribution details for both "Bandar" and "Toxic" are awaited in the coming weeks.
