Amid Certification Row, Thalapathy Vijay-Starrer Jana Nayagan Sent To Revising Committee By CBFC
Thalapathy Vijay-starrer, "Jana Nayagan," was originally scheduled to release on January 9. However, the film got delayed after it failed to secure certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). With legal proceedings taking time and his fans getting increasingly impatient, there has now emerged a new development tin this matter.

The makers have submitted the film to the Revising Committee as per an India Today Report. According to the source, Jana Nayagan has been sent today to the committee and this move has the potential to change the tide of this legal tussle.
The makers might consider withdrawing the case depending on the outcome, adds the source. However, an official confirmation from the team of "Jana Nayagan" is awaited.
Ever since "Jana Nayagan" has been embroiled in this issue, it has witnessed several twists in the court. Initially, the movie was issued a U/A 16+ certificate by CBFC as directed by a single-judge bench of the Madras High Court. However, on the very same day, CBFC challenged the order, and a division bench stayed the ruling.
Post this, the makers approached the Supreme Court seeking relief against the stay but the apex court refused and instructed the makers to discuss the matter with the Madras High Court. The case was sent back to the single judge for reconsideration by the division bench on January 27.
"Jana Nayagan" holds a special emotion for Thalapathy fans as it marks the final appearance of their favorite star on the big screen before he becomes a full-time politician.
Directed by H.Vinoth of "Nerkonda Paarvai," "Valimai" and "Thunivu" fame, the movie also features Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju in key roles. It is bankrolled by Venkat K. Narayana under the banner of KVN Productions. The music of "Jana Nayagan" is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
