Akshay Kumar’s ‘Wheel Of Fortune India’ Gets Greenlit For Second Season (EXCLUSIVE)
Akshay Kumar’s “Wheel of Fortune India” was one of the first reality shows of 2026 to go on air. It is an Indianized version of the American show that began in 1975. The international version ran for 43 seasons, making it to the Guinness Book of World Records. The Indian version had its first telecast on January 27, 2026. The show's TRPs have been steady, and now Variety India has learnt that there will be a second season, with Akshay Kumar back as the host.

The show has maintained consistent TRPs throughout, and it has also earned a loyal TV audience that enjoys the games and the elements of Indian culture incorporated into the proceedings. Going by TV history, all money-based reality shows have done well in India. The best example is “Kaun Banega Crorepati,” which has run for over 19 seasons so far. The other notable ones are “Shark Tank India” and “10 Ka Dum.” Coincidentally, all of them were telecast by the same channel.
Akshay Kumar returned to TV hosting after a break with the “Wheel of Fortune India.” His other notable stint on TV was “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi,” which he hosted in 2008-09 and 2011. He received a lot of love as the host and admiration for his stunt and action-based onscreen daredevilry. In the past, Akshay Kumar also hosted “MasterChef India” with the same network.
