Ajay Devgn-Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal 5’ Shooting Begins In Mumbai; Priyamani Joins the Cast (EXCLUSIVE)
“Golmaal 5” has officially gone on floors. Variety India has exclusively learned that Rohit Shetty quietly commenced shooting for the much-awaited fifth chapter of the “Golmaal” film franchise yesterday in Mumbai.
All the main cast members were there for their shoot schedule yesterday, while the lead star, Ajay Devgn, will join the set tomorrow. The film also has a new casting addition in Priyamani, best known for her role in Manoj Bajpayee's Amazon Prime series, “The Family Man.” Her character details haven’t been revealed yet, but sources say she has already started filming. The first shooting schedule is expected to span approximately one month.

The latest installment of the “Golmaal” franchise is being billed as the most ambitious yet, with Akshay Kumar also joining the cast for a comic face-off with Devgn and his ragtag ensemble of misfits. Regular cast members Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade, along with Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari and Ashwini Kalsekar, all return for what promises to be another high-energy comedy of errors. Contrary to rumors, Kareena Kapoor Khan will not be part of the film.
India's biggest film franchise, the “Golmaal” saga, completes two decades this year. Since its debut with “Golmaal: Fun Unlimited” in 2006, the franchise has had four parts, collectively amassing over 600 crore at the worldwide box office. The upcoming installment promises a grander scale and amplified comic mayhem while retaining the irreverent humor that has defined its legacy. The film is eyeing an early 2027 release.
