Ajay Devgn Dismisses Reunion Rumors With ‘Tanhaji’ Director Om Raut as ‘Baseless and Entirely Untrue’

In 2020, Ajay Devgn collaborated with director Om Raut for “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior,” which emerged as a box-office blockbuster and till date remains the actor’s highest grosser.

Recently, there were reports that the duo is reuniting for another project, but the actor’s team has dismissed them, calling the news “baseless and entirely untrue.”

“We have come across recent media reports suggesting that Ajay Devgn and Om Raut are reuniting for a film based on an unsung warrior. We would like to clarify that there are currently no such discussions or collaborations taking place with the director. The story is baseless and entirely untrue,” a spokesperson from Ajay Devgn and Devgn Films said in a statement.

“Both Ajay Devgn and Om Raut are presently working on their respective commitments,” the statement added.

“Tanhaji,” which marked Raut’s Bollywood directorial debut, was the last big hit before COVID. It also featured Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Sharad Kelkar, Ajinkya Deo and Luke Kenny in prominent roles. It went on to win three National Awards.

Meanwhile, the actor has multiple projects in the pipeline. He will be next seen in “Dhamaal 4,” which also features Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Jaaved Jaaferi, Ravi Kishan, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Upendra Limaye, Sajay Mishra and Anjali Anand, among others. Directed by Indra Kumar, the film is set to hit the screens on June 12.

Apart from that, Devgn will also be seen in “Drishyam 3,” “Ranger” and “Golmaal 5.”
