Ahead of her wedding, Rashmika Mandanna Begins Shooting for Allu Arjun-Atlee’s Action Spectacle (EXCLUSIVE)
Amid ongoing speculation surrounding her wedding, Variety India has exclusively learned that Rashmika Mandanna has quietly commenced shooting for Atlee's next film with Allu Arjun, tentatively titled AA22xA6.
Rashmika joined the sets on Tuesday and is expected to continue shooting until mid-February in Mumbai, following which she will take a break for her wedding with Vijay Deverakonda, scheduled to take place on February 26 in Rajasthan. She will be shooting key portions alongside Allu, Janhvi Kapoor and Jim Sarbh in the current schedule. The team is undertaking an intensive, month-long indoor stint focusing primarily on action-heavy and emotionally charged dramatic sequences.

Rashmika and Allu officially reunite in this film following the massive success of the Pushpa franchise. However, their character dynamics this time are believed to be completely different, as Rashmika plays a negative character — a significant departure from her previous screen personas and one that is being described as the boldest and most daring character of her career to date.
AA22xA6 has been envisioned as an ambitious, VFX-heavy action spectacle set in a parallel universe. Allu plays multiple roles in this mammoth-budgeted Sun Pictures production, being mounted on a global scale, with leading special effects companies from Los Angeles on board to design the film's expansive visual palettes.
Apart from Allu, Rashmika and Janhvi, the pan-India film features an ensemble of a star-studded cast that also includes Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur, Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu. Production began in June 2025 and is expected to be wrapped by the second half of this year, eyeing a pan-world theatrical release in 2027.
Up next, Rashmika will next feature opposite Shahid Kapoor in Maddock Films' Cocktail 2 and will follow that up with Rahul Sankrityan's Ranabaali. The latter pairs her with Vijay Deverakonda and is scheduled to release in theatres on September 11, 2026.
