Vijay Devarakonda Posts A Special Video From ‘Ranabaali’ Sets To Celebrate Rashmika Mandanna’s Birthday

Today is April 5. It also happens to be Rashmika Mandanna’s 30th birthday. It is special because she will be celebrating it for the first time as Vijay Devarakonda’s wife. And her doting husband has ensured that he wants the world to know how much his wife means to him. Vijay Deverakonda took to social media to post a cute message, “I love you Jayamma”, his wife’s character from their upcoming film, "Ranabaali," where the real-life couple also portray reel life husband and wife.

Vijay has uploaded a cute behind-the-scenes video, from "Ranabaali" sets, depicting his wife’s prep for her role as Jayamma. The video opens with a romantic one liner, “In a word painted in gray, she was his only colour.” This is followed by black and white shots depicting a make up room with traditional jewellery placed on tables. There is an element of studied chaos showing the effort artists put into while working on a movie set. There are images of a queenly figure on the wall, possibly the main inspiration behind Rashmika’s onscreen portrayal.

The camera then pans into an animated Rashmika chatting with her director, shots of her getting her hair and make-up while slipping into costume for her role as Jayamma. The short video ends with a romantic shot of the couple lying on the floor and gazing into each other’s eyes leading to the message, Happy Birthday Rashmika Mandanna.

It’s a short and beautiful video that depicts Vijay’s heartfelt love for his wife on a public platform. Throughout their courtship, they kept their personal life under wraps. Post marriage, they seem overjoyed to tell the world how blessed they are to find a soulmate in each other. It is also a classy way to promote their upcoming movie, "Ranabaali." This is their third film together after "Geetha Govindam" (2018) and "Dear Comrade" (2019). The couple became good friends while working on the sets of these two movies and eventually their friendship culminated into marriage earlier this year.

"Ranabaali" is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and T-Series with Rahul Sankrityan as the director. It is about the oppression on locals during the time of colonial rule in South India. A large part of the movie has been filmed in Anantapur, Rayalaseema.
