‘The Pitt’ gets an Indian version (EXCLUSIVE)
The American medical drama, "The Pitt," has received praise from viewers all over the globe for its detailed, poignant and realistic depiction of the lives of healthcare professionals in the post-pandemic era. The series that airs on HBO MAX has won five awards at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. It was also listed as one of the best TV programs of 2025 by the American Film Institute, and won the Best Television Series-Drama at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards.

Variety India has learned that TVF, the production house behind hit shows like "Panchayat," "Gullak", "Kota Factory", "Aspirants," among others, is planning to produce a remake of the show. So far, TVF has not made any adaptation of any foreign show and it will be a first for them. They are known for their slate of original creations.
"The Pitt" revolves around the lives of healthcare workers in the post-COVID world. It addresses the psychological issues faced by them as they deal with stressful 15-hour shifts in the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center's Emergency Room (ER). The first season of the show premiered on January 9, 2025. Now, we are in the second season and six episodes are out.
Actor Noah Wyle plays Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch, a senior attending physician who leads a team in the emergency room, which is known as "The Pitt". In the series, a team of junior doctors, interns and senior professionals try to navigate emotionally challenging situations in the emergency room as they deal with other problems like a lack of staff and resources. R. Scott Gemmill is the creator of this series.
TVF was founded by Arunabh Kumar in 2010 and is hailed as one of the best streaming platforms in India.
