One of the giants of the K-pop industry, BIGBANG faced a series of scandals after G-Dragon and T.O.P. were suspected of smoking weed. In 2017, T.O.P. was given a suspended sentence for use of marijuana. The Burning Sun scandal (2019) grabbed headlines and BIGBANG faced immense public scrutiny after Seungri got sentenced by the court.

After these controversies, T.O.P. had to take a long break from his entertainment career after he touched great heights both as a singer and actor. The rapper joined the cast of Hwang Dong-hyuk’s “Squid Game 2,” where he played the role of Thanos. His outing on the Netflix global hit was loved by fans and neutrals alike.
