T.O.P Declares He Is Back With ‘Another Dimension’ And We Are Cheering Hard: Album Review

The Korean boy band, BIGBANG, enjoys a terrific fan following to date. T.O.P has released his first studio album, which has 11 tracks. The singer said in his recent interviews that he has been working on his music for the past 10 years. T.O.P has composed most of the songs in collaboration with a few other music producers. The highlight of the album is his association with Grammy-winning multi-platinum audio and mix engineer IRKO, who has worked with top artists like Kanye West, Jay-Z, The Weeknd and Pitbull, to name a few.

Coming to the songs, the ones that immediately catch your attention on the first listening are “Another Dimension Holy Dude!” “The Giant,” “Zero Coke” and “Stendhal Syndrome.” T.O.P’s album “Another Dimension” is cathartic as he addresses the sense of hopelessness he felt after the entire BIGBANG scandal that shook the world of K-Pop.

Fans might get emotional after listening to the first track, “Self-Crucifixion,” where he talks about the pain and agony. As we move ahead, the tone changes in terms of lyrics talking about how he is in a happier space. For those who love T.O.P the rapper, “Stendhal Syndrome” is an absolute delight. “Studio 54” serves retro music with a loud, hedonistic vibe that reminds us of the 1980s era. The song is made trippier with the singer’s robust vocals.

Musically, he has not shied away from experimenting with various genres, whether it is house, EDM, or disco, coupled with Korean hip-hop. There are multiple references to BIGBANG and it will evoke emotions from the whole fandom.

By the end of the album, he loudly declares that T.O.P is back with the banger, “For Fans,” which is a peppy song you would love to play anywhere, be that in the gym or on a long drive.
