Rishab Shetty’s Superhero Movie ‘Jai Hanuman’ Gears Up For A Mega Event In Hampi
By Garima Sharma
Rishab Shetty’s next outing as Lord Hanuman is not just another movie announcement. The team’s planning a full-on spectacle in the ruins of Hampi, the old capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. They are getting it all going on February 22, 2026, right there among the ancient temples and boulders. There’s a reason for that. Hampi’s history and landscape aren’t just a pretty backdrop. The makers want the place to ground the story and turn Hanuman into something enormous, both visually and symbolically, for Prasanth Varma’s Cinematic Universe.

Prasanth Varma is back in the director’s chair for “Jai Hanuman,” following up on his 2024 Telugu smash hit, “HanuMan.” That movie raked in over ₹300 crore worldwide and turned Teja Sajja’s small-town superhero into a sensation across India.
With “HanuMan” now the top-grossing Telugu release of that year (which year?), the buzz for the sequel has already started building up, especially with Shetty taking on the main role. Shetty, still riding high on “Kantara Chapter 2, ” will be the new face of Hanuman for this growing universe. The plan doesn’t stop here. There is already talk of an Indra film with Mokshagna in the lead.
Pre-production for ‘Jai Hanuman” is done. Scripts are locked, designs are ready and they are aiming to start shooting in April 2026. That February launch in Hampi? It is not your regular press meet. It feels more like a ritual. The team wants the town’s temples and mythic energy to set the tone for the epic scale they are aiming at.
Even the posters lean hard into the religious vibe, showing Shetty in devotional poses and highlighting Hanuman’s association with Lord Ram. All the branding around Prasanth Varma’s Cinematic Universe is quietly building up this big, interconnected, mythology-driven world.
