Red Lorry Film Festival 2026: From Jaws 4K Restored Version Making Its India Debut To Sentimental Value And Hamnet, A Treat For Cinema Lovers

Amid the buzz around international award nights and cinema events, India is all set to witness the 2026 edition of the Red Lorry Film Festival happening from March 13-15 in Mumbai, this year. Weighing heavily on the emotional spectrum, the lineup of the festival is incredible. Anchoring the lineup is the Indian screening of the 4K restoration of “Jaws” for its 50th anniversary for the first time.

Half a century after Steven Spielberg’s shark thriller rewired blockbuster filmmaking, watching it on the big screen again is both a reminder of communal movie-going and a testament to how spectacle once depended purely on craft, tension, and sound.

The emotional pull continues as the festival is all set to screen one of the Oscar circuit's favorite films of the year, “Sentimental Value.” The film promises an introspective look at memory and relationships, echoing the festival’s broader theme of cinema as emotional archive. In contrast, the Korean thriller “No Other Choice” brings urgency and moral tension, representing the sharp contemporary storytelling that has made Korean cinema a dominant global force.

Spanish entry “Sirat” brings a tonal shift, delivering atmospheric intensity that balances the festival’s quieter, reflective works. Meanwhile, “Hamnet,” based on Maggie O’Farrell’s acclaimed novel about Shakespeare’s son, directed by Oscar- winning filmmaker Chloe Zao arrives as one of the most anticipated literary adaptations on the circuit, blending historical drama with intimate grief.

“Sound Of Falling” is another intriguing addition to the lineup, which represents the kind of formally daring cinema festivals champion. The lineup also bridges generations through repertory screenings of beloved classics such as “Roman Holiday,” “When Harry Met Sally” and the evergreen musical “The Sound of Music.”

Indian cinema receives its due spotlight as well, with landmark works like “Rang De Basanti,” “Satyakam,” “Shiva” and “Massey Sahib” reminding audiences of the country’s rich storytelling legacy beyond mainstream spectacle.
