The Ranbir Kapoor-led “Ramayana,” directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is easily one of the biggest films in the pipeline right now. And as the countdown begins for its much-anticipated special drop this week, the runtime of the teaser has now been confirmed. Spanning over two minutes, the teaser has officially been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and is now locked for its April 2 reveal, as promised.
The “Ramayana” drop, titled “Rama,” is all set to release on April 2, as confirmed by producer Namit Malhotra last week. Now that the glimpse has been certified, fresh details around the same have emerged. The teaser is said to be **2 minutes and 38 seconds long**, which means audiences can expect a proper first look months before “Ramayana: Part One” finally arrives on the big screen on Diwali 2026.

The teaser reportedly received its certification today, with strong buzz suggesting that “Rama” will be unveiled on the morning of April 2. While the title itself indicates that the focus will largely be on Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama, the glimpse is also expected to introduce several of the film’s other pivotal characters and offer audiences their first visual taste of the larger world being built.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, produced by Namit Malhotra, and featuring music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, “Ramayana” boasts a massive ensemble cast. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Ravie Dubey as Laxman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, Suhail Nayyar as Sugriva, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara, and Lara Dutta as Kaikayee, among others.
Announcing the April 2 date for the drop earlier, Malhotra had written on Instagram, “Shubh Rama Navami. This is a story that belongs to all of us, and every step we take has been guided by a deep sense of responsibility, devotion, and care to bring our very own Ramayana to life in its truest spirit and scale with utmost sincerity.”
He added, “We look forward to sharing the next glimpse, ‘Rama,’ on 2nd April, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, as we begin to showcase all these years of our effort through a grand world reveal with fans, celebrating this moment across the world.”
Meanwhile, “Ramayana: Part One” is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release, while “Ramayana: Part Two” is set to arrive on Diwali 2027.
