Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ Release Date Confusion: What You Need to Know
Ram Charan-starrer "Peddi" is one of South India's biggest films this year and was initially slated to hit screens on April 30, 2026. However, over the last few days, reports have emerged suggesting that the Ram Charan-starrer has been postponed to June 2026. The delay is reportedly due to pending shoot and post-production work.
During a recent promotional event of Kiran Abbavaram's "Chennai Love Story," producer Srinivas Kumar Naidu, who is also closely associated with Ram Charan, accidentally revealed that "Peddi" might release on June 25, 2026, grabbing widespread attention. Since then, the makers have not made anything official, and the latest posters of "Peddi" don't feature a release date, increasing confusion among fans and the general audience.

To add to the speculation, bookings in the US were suddenly halted, further indicating a possible postponement. Meanwhile, sources suggest that the makers are considering June 4 as the new release date. There was also a discussion about the June 25 release, but that has been ruled out because the makers of Akhil Akkineni's "Lenin" have locked June 26 as their release date.
This leaves the makers with no option but to choose a date in the first week of June. Some even say that the makers are looking at dates in the second week of May 2026. However, there is a twist. Ram Charan is reportedly keen on sticking to the April 30 release and does not want to miss the lucrative summer window.
Amid all this, the film’s business has taken a hit. OTT giant Netflix had acquired the digital rights for ₹105 crore, but with the release date likely changing, the deal is now being renegotiated. One of the sources reveals that the numbers in the OTT deal are changing strikingly because the said release date will be missed.
The pre-release business for this pan-India film is at an all-time high. Mythri Movie Makers, the banner behind the film, is leaving no stone unturned to make "Peddi" a blockbuster hit. This is why they are playing the waiting game, especially regarding the release date.
Currently, a special song featuring a top female star is also set to be filmed in the coming days and this will wrap up the film leading way for post-production. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, "Peddi" stars Janhvi Kapoor with music by A. R. Rahman.
