Rajinikanth-Kamal Haasan-Starrer ‘KHxRK’ Makers Counter A.I. Accusations With BTS Video

By Sakshi Navare

The recent announcement video of “KhxRK,” which featured two cinematic legends, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan —who are coming together in a film after 47 years — had fans going berserk with excitement and anticipation.

Though the stylish promo thrilled viewers, it also sparked online claims that it was made using AI.

Now, the makers have put an end to these rumors by sharing a behind-the-scenes clip of the promo, which shows Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan on the set filming the promo with the film’s director, Nelson.

In the video, the girls from the contentious garage sequence were shown on set, effectively dispelling doubts that the promo had used digitally generated characters. The clip ends with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan hugging after completing their shots.

Sharing the video, the makers wrote,  “Lights. Camera. Action. A sneak peek into the making of #KHxRK promo.”

When the promo was released, an X user shared the collages of the women on X and asked Grok if it was A.I.-generated. The tool responded, “Yes, this collage of women in garage scenes looks AI-generated. The hyper-realistic details, consistent lighting, and polished cinematic style across all panels are classic signs of modern AI image tools like Midjourney or Flux. The original post nailed it!”

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan last worked together in 1979 in K. Balachander’s "Ninaithale Inikkum." Before that, the duo shared screen space in "Apoorva Raagangal," "Anthuleni Katha," "Pathinaru Vayathinile" and "Ilamai Oonjal Aadukirathu."

“KHxRK” is expected to arrive in cinemas in 2027.
