Poorna Jagannathan-led ‘Deli Boys’ Gets Season 2; Kumail Nanjiani, Lilly Singh Join Cast
By Hitakshi Nagda,
“Deli Boys” returns to Hulu on May 28, 2026 with a wilder Season 2, with new additions Kumail Nanjiani, Lilly Singh and Fred Armisen (as casino magnate Max Sugar) entering the fray. The Pakistani-American crime comedy, toplined by Poorna Jagannathan, Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh, about two brothers inheriting a drug empire, with Poorna playing their guardian and handler Lucky (aka Naveeda).
Poorna’s tryst with dark comedies isn’t new. She debuted in Bollywood in a bit role in Aamir Khan Productions’ “Delhi Belly.” Critics appreciated her contribution to the film and felt that she, along with Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunaal Roy Kapur, carried the film together.
When one sees Poorna 14 years later in “Deli Boys”, the genre energy is the same but she has a considerably bigger role as the string-puller in the crime syndicate with colossal ambitions. Her performance in Season 1 won the 2025 Gotham Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance.

Kumail Nanjiani joins the cast in a recurring role as Danyal, a defense attorney hired by Max Sugar. Lilly Singh’s character Aisha is Ali ‘Paneer Sahir’s (Shahjehan Ali) wife who’s obsessed with Raj Dar (played by Saagar Shaikh).
While Hulu has revealed the “Deli Boys” Season 2 drop date, an Indian premiere date for the new season hasn’t been announced by JioHotstar, which streams Hulu shows in India.
