‘Pallichattambi’ Trailer: Tovino Thomas Takes Up Cudgels On Behalf Of His People In This Period Rural Actioner
By Gayathri Krishna,
On the occasion of Easter, the makers of Tovino Thomas's next movie, "Pallichattambi," released the official trailer ahead of its April 10 theatrical release. Similar to the teaser, it depicts the actor playing the lead role of a hero protecting a fictional small town and its people from harm.
The trailer opens with visuals of small town in 1957–1958, a period of significant sociopolitical change in Kerala. Its powerless residents have given up hope on everyone except God. They search for a "chattambi," which is Malayalam for "one who is fearless and unwavering", to help them resist the growing opposition to the ruling authorities. The people are shown impressed by Tovino's (Tovino Thomas) power and wit when he appears as a "Palli Chattambi". The trailer also depicts his journey in this small community, where he finds acceptance and love. But eventually, the main focus of the trailer is the people's and the survival of the local church.
As always, Tovino steals the show with his rooted performance and hero-like persona. The film's rustic setting is beautifully depicted in the trailer. The actor has previously portrayed roles like this in his other Malayalam hits, such as "Minnal Murali" and "ARM," in which he comes to the rescue of a town and its residents.
It's interesting to note that in his most recent movie, "Narivetta," he portrayed a police officer who, after seeing a mass firing at a tribal tribe, decides to defend them. Similarly, "Pallichattambi" with its powerful action scenes and rustic performance are anticipated to win over his fans once again.
