‘O’ Romeo’ and ‘Tu Yaa Main’ Box-Office: Shahid Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor’s Films End Their First Week On A Disappointing Note
Last week, two films arrived at the box office --“O’Romeo” and “Tu Yaa Main.” While industry experts had high expectations from both these films, neither of them managed to attract footfalls at the ticket windows.
The Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri-starrer raked in just over ₹47 crore, Shanaya’s survival-thriller, costarring Adarsh Gourav, collected approximately ₹4.50 crore.

Both films managed to witness an upward trend over the weekend but failed to keep up that momentum during the weekdays, resulting in a disappointing opening week at the box-office.
As two fresh releases arrived today with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur starrer “Do Deewane Seher Mein” and Taapsee Pannu’s “Assi,” the holdover releases will face a solid screen crunch across the country.
Unfortunately, none of the releases in February looks impressive, and it seems the theater and box office will only come alive after the arrival of Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” and Yash starrer “Toxic.”
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, “O’Romeo” marks the filmmaker’s fourth collaboration with Shahid Kapoor after “Kaminey,” “Haider” and “Rangoon.” It also features Avinash Tiwary, Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, Vikrant Massey, Disha Patani and Tamannaah Bhatia in special appearances. The film is produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment VB Films.
On the other hand, “Tu Yaa Main,” also starring Kshitee Jog, Ansh Vikas Chopra, Parul Gulati and Amruta Khanvilkar in supporting roles, is directed by Bejoy Nambiar, known for helming "Shaitan,” “Taish,” “David” and “Wazir,” among others. It is bankrolled by Aanand L. Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions and Bhanushali Studios Ltd, which is owned by Vinod Bhanushali.
