‘Mr X’: Arya and Manju Warrier’s Much-Delayed Film Finally Set for Release This Month
By Sakshi Navare,
Arya-starrer “Mr X” began production in early 2023 and wrapped filming in June 2024 after delays caused by controversies around its themes. After a series of postponements, the film has now secured a release window at the box office.
The filmmakers and director have revealed that the film is scheduled for release this month, though the exact premiere date has not been announced. Plot details remain under wraps, but a teaser released last year depicted secret agents mobilizing after a nuclear device goes missing from India.
Taking to X, director Manu Anand tweeted, "…and finally we are coming! After what felt like eons, 'Mr X' is hitting theatres worldwide this month! I thank each and everyone who worked on the film and supported this endeavour. Hope all you like what we have created! #MrX."(sic)
Interestingly, director Anand’s last film, “FIR,” was also an espionage thriller, which featured Vishnu Vishal and Manjima Mohan, and explored the themes of betrayal and trust in the context of Islamophobia.
Talking about “Mr X,” the movie also stars Sarath Kumar, Gautham Ram Karthik, Athulyaa Ravi, Raiza Wilson, Jayaprakash, Kaali Venkat and Anagha in pivotal roles.
While the camera is cranked by Arul Vincent, Dhibu Ninan Thomas has composed the album of the film, with the editing department handled by Prasanna GK.
The stunts for the film have been choreographed by Stunt Silva, with Indulal Kaveed taking care of the art direction.
