Mohit Suri Reveals There is no Film with Ranbir Kapoor: ‘I Went to Meet him To Discuss and Intend to Work Together’ (EXCLUSIVE)
Filmmaker Mohit Suri, known for directing films like “Aashiqui 2,” “Malang,” “Awarapan” and “Ek Villain,” among others, delivered an all-time blockbuster last year with “Saiyaara,” featuring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.
While multiple reports suggested that Mohit is set to collaborate with Ranbir Kapoor after the success of “Saiyaara,” the director has denied the rumours to Variety India. However, he added, there’s a great intent to work with the actor.
“Ranbir Kapoor is not in my next film. I genuinely want to work with him and I hope he feels the same way about me. I went to meet him to discuss and intend to work together. Meanwhile, it’s been in news that we are already doing a film together. Ranbir and I know each other as he’s been following my career right from the beginning. He’s one of the few actors and such a great star who appreciates a film like ‘Awaarapan’ even though it flopped, when it was released. He keeps telling me it’s one of my best films.

He adds, “Normally, actors just talk to you about your highest-grossing film and say that’s your best film. While Ranbir is talking about a flop film of mine.
Mohit believes that Ranbir has what he wants in his hero, “I think he has the depth and layered nuances that my kind of films need. But no, there is no Ranbir Kapoor in my film, at the moment. I wish there was,” Suri reveals.
On the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy with multiple projects. The actor has “Ramayana” (two parts), “Love & War” and “Animal Park” in the pipeline.
