Manoj Bajpayee on ‘The Family Man’ Season 4 Update and Finalizing a New Title for ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’ (EXCLUSIVE)

In a career spanning three decades, Manoj Bajpayee has moved seamlessly between acclaimed films, big-budget projects and OTT successes. Now, he takes on another challenging part, portraying Yogesh Murthy, aka Masterji, in the film “Last Man in Tower,” based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Booker Prize-winning author Aravind Adiga. In a new conversation with Variety India, Bajpayee opens up about playing the character, performing his own action sequences and shares updates on “The Family Man” Season 4.

Describing his understanding of Masterji, Bajpayee says, “Masterji is stubborn, addicted to his principles and sticks to what he thinks is right and wrong. He is an old man without a wife who doesn’t want to compromise on his dignity at all, and the last person he wants to be hurt by is his son.”

The actor reveals that he performed all of his scenes himself, including the climax. “I feel a little scared doing all of these things now, after so many years. A cramp here, a nick there — my body doesn’t feel confident doing so many things. Having said that, the manner in which it is shot, it happens with complete suddenness. He is caught in this and he doesn’t know how to save himself,” he says.

One of Bajpayee’s most talked-about roles remains “The Family Man "’s Srikant Tiwari, an intelligence officer navigating complex cases alongside the challenges of life as a middle-class man with various personal problems. The show’s third season became one of the most-watched series of 2025, further cementing its popularity. With fans continuing to ask about the next season, the actor reveals that conversations around the fourth edition will begin soon.

“Talks will start happening soon,” he says, adding, “It’s quite flattering that it has become such a great franchise that each and every person, be it a child or an adult, keeps asking about it. Once the conversation about the fourth season starts, the script will be finalized, and then we’ll be called in to start prepping for it and give our dates.”

The actor also shares an update on the OTT thriller formerly titled “Ghooskhor Pandat,” which has faced legal challenges over its name. While the new title has yet to be finalized, the actor says, “Everybody is so very optimistic. We thought about three to four titles, but we’re still deciding about the final one. The team has come up with some interesting titles. Netflix will give us an update. It will be out in a couple of months.” The film was previously expected to release sometime this year, but its new schedule remains under wraps.
