Maan Panu: ‘My latest single isn’t just ‘The Last Letter’ to someone else, it’s the first letter to myself’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Singer-songwriter Maan Panu’s quiet, introspective exploration into the aftermath of heartbreak continues with his latest single, “The Last Letter” and the accompanying music video. A promising name in the modern Indian pop space, Panu is known for his expressive songwriting and relatable storytelling.

And unlike most love songs on heartbreak, Maan’s writing on “The Last Letter” is born from the realization that some people don’t come back. Not now, not ever. And in that silence, he chose to write the closure he never received.

Even before its official release, Maan’s video performing the song went viral on social media, garnering nearly 10 million views before release. Since then, the hints and teasers across his social media only deepened the anticipation, turning the track into a quiet fan favorite among listeners.

On the release, Maan Panu shares, “‘The Last Letter’ carries the weight of endings, but also the quiet strength of new beginnings. It’s about making peace with what was, and finding the courage to step into what’s next. In many ways, this isn’t just the last letter to someone else, it’s the first letter to myself.”

The single’s introspective lyrics and mellow sound doesn’t dramatize heartbreak. Panu leans into the stillness that follows heartbreak, embraces the void and transforms the absence of closure into something personal and relatable.

Maan Panu, who hails from Uttarakhand, shot to fame with his first public performance of “I’m Done” on reality show "I-Popstar", which was loved by audiences and made headlines after Bollywood superstar Salman Khan appreciatively posted about it.

With “The Last Letter,” he voices the sentences that never found their way out, to conversations that only lived in your head and a kind of love that doesn’t ask for attention but refuses to be forgotten.
