Kim Go-eun Of Goblin Fame And Gang Dong-won Begin Filming of ‘Soul’ in Top Secrecy
"Soul" is supposed to be one of the marquee projects from the world of Korean dramas in 2027. It stars Goblin actress Kim Go-eun and Gang Dong-won in lead roles. The shoot of the same has started in the Gangwon State of South Korea. It is a densely forested mountainous area perfect as the setting for historical epics. "Soul," which is also known as “Hon” (Korean) is supposed to be a passionate romance with a strong historical background. The shoot was supposed to start earlier this year but got delayed due to some pre-production work.
As per reports in Korean entertainment channels, the cast and crew has been instructed to maintain absolute secrecy. The cast members have not been given complete scripts to prevent leaks. Instead, they are given basic sketches to prepare for the scenes and characters. However, the shoot is proceeding at a brisk pace and actors have no issues with this style of functioning. Kim Go-eun had a fantastic 2025 with shows like “You And Everything Else,” and “The Price of Confession.” Actor Gang Dong-won made a return to dramas with “Tempest” which came on Disney+. The show was one of their top titles for 2025.
“Soul,” is a collaboration between writer Park Ji-eun and director Kim Won-seok. The former has written projects like “Queen of Tears”, “Crash Landing on You,” “My Love from the Star” and so on. This is the first time she is writing a historical romance. Kim Won-seok has directed shows like “My Mister”, which is one of the most acclaimed ones in Korean drama history.
