Jaideep Ahlawat And Huma Qureshi Team Up For A Light-hearted Comedy (EXCLUSIVE)
Jaideep Ahlawat and Huma Qureshi have been part of Anurag Kashyap's iconic gangster drama, “Gangs of Wasseypur.” However, they didn't appear together in the film franchise, as Jaideep featured in the first instalment while Huma joined the ensemble in the sequel. Now, almost 14 years later, the two acclaimed actors are set to collaborate, sharing screen space together for the first time.
Variety India has exclusively learned that Jaideep and Huma are set to headline Hitesh Kewalya's next light-hearted drama. Both actors have given their nod to this project and will commence shooting in June 2026. Though plot details are being currently kept under wraps, but expect it to be in a similar space to the director's previous outings, which include Ayushmann Khurrana and Jitendra Kumar-starrer “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan” (2020) and Kunal Kemmu's Netflix series, “Single Papa.”

Jaideep is currently shooting for “Kohrra” creator Sudip Sharma's next genre-bending web series for Netflix India. As we previously reported, Barun Sobti and Abhishek Banerjee also feature in this show. Last seen in Sriram Raghavan's “Ikkis,” the actor has an extensive slate lined up ahead. He will next feature in Vipul Amrutlal Shah's “Hisaab,” followed by Abhishek Pathak's “Drishyam 3” and Siddharth Anand's “King” during the Christmas 2026 weekend.
As for Huma, she will next be seen alongside “KGF” star Yash in the much-awaited “Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups,” scheduled to release in theaters on March 19, 2026. She also has “Baby Do Die Do,” in which she plays a female assassin, and Maddock Films' “Pooja Meri Jaan,” alongside Mrunal Thakur.
