In the first episode of the reality series, “Lock Upp: Sach Yaa Sazaa,” Akanksha Chamola revealed that she and Gaurav Khanna are headed for a divorce, leading to an intense debate on social media. Even the couple’s colleagues from the television industry have expressed doubts about the authenticity of her claim, suggesting it’s all for effect.
On the July 9 episode, mentioned that she and Khanna have been living separately for a year now, citing her reluctance to accept motherhood as the main reason for their separation. She also claimed that she is a bisexual and has been in relationships with women before marrying the "Anupamaa" actor.
However, she had come to visit Khanna on the sets of “Bigg Boss” — a year ago — and they were a happy couple at the time. The couple's social media timeline at the time, doesn’t point to any rift between them. While they might have different views on parenthood, their social media history reveals the real story.

Khanna and Chamola flew down to Dubai where they enjoyed a vacation at the five-star resort of Atlantis - The Palm Dubai. It was an extended birthday celebration for Chamola as per his Instagram post. Their pictures showed love and affection. Even if it was a brand partnership, the couple excellently played the role of a couple madly in love. Khanna and Chamola also attended a major awards function as a couple. They starred together in two to three promotional reels for brands. On January 15, he hosted a grand birthday bash for Chamola, which friends and his Bigg Boss contestants attended.

While promoting her upcoming web series, "Dil Dhoka Aur Desire," Chamola said she would never ever cheat on Gaurav Khanna.

The duo attended a couple of events in the city. One of them was a Holi bash while the other was the Iftaar party thrown by "Bigg Boss 19" contestant Farrhana Bhatt. Khanna also supported Chamola after she was trolled for her bold scenes in the web series "Dil Dhoka Aur Desire."
