‘Dhurandhar 2’ Box Office: Ranveer Singh’s Film Sets New Day 2 Record Surpassing Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’
“Dhurandhar: The Revenge” continues its mayhem at the box office. Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh's action spectacle collected ₹76.55 crore net across languages in India on its second day, taking its two-day total to ₹204.5 crore net, including paid previews.
The Friday collection saw the film setting another milestone — the all-time highest second-day collection for a Hindi film. The film comfortably surpassed the previous record held by Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's “Animal,” which had earned ₹66.27 crore net on its second day. On a pan-India level, however, the highest second-day record still remains with Allu Arjun's “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” with ₹93.80 crore net.
Films of this scale typically witness a significant drop after a massive first day, but “Dhurandhar 2” remarkably sustained the strong momentum, registering a minimal drop of just 8% from Thursday. This is a clear indication that the film has found audience acceptance. The sequel has delivered what the public expected, and they're going gaga over it — reinforcing the idea again that audiences are eager to flock to cinemas in large numbers when offered a truly grand theatrical experience. Released during the festival period, “Dhurandhar 2” itself has turned into a celebration, bringing the houseful boards back to cinemas.

On Friday, “Dhurandhar 2” earned ₹74.81 crore in Hindi, while its Southern dubbed versions contributed only ₹1.74 crore net. Jio Studios has miserably failed in properly releasing its Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada versions. While Pawan Kalyan's "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" has dominated screens in Telugu markets, its poor performance in other dubbed languages is purely because the studio failed to strategically release the film on time. Dubbed versions didn't release properly even yesterday.
Territory-wise, Maharashtra continues to be the strongest market for “Dhurandhar 2.” It collected ₹16.45 crore on Friday, taking its two-and-half day total in the state to ₹46.64 crore net. Delhi-NCR, however, saw better collection yesterday than the first day, earning ₹11.69 crore, which is ₹71.38 lakh more than the first day. Other top-performing territories were Karnataka (₹8.03 crore), Gujarat (₹7.07 crore), and Uttar Pradesh, which collected ₹4.59 crore net.
Overall, “Dhurandhar 2” is on the way to becoming a monster blockbuster. With the national holiday today on the occasion of Eid, the film is expected to witness a massive surge in collections. It’s most likely to surpass the highest-single-day record held by "Pushpa 2: The Rule" (₹85 crore in Hindi) today, but how far the film goes remains to be seen. Trade is projecting nearly ₹100 crore net today.
