‘Dhurandhar 2’ Preview Shows: Premium Seats Hit ₹2900 but Budget Tickets Still in Double Digits

Ranveer Singh-starrer “Dhurandhar” is getting an insane response at the box office for its preview shows across the country. The tickets are getting sold like hot cakes despite being on the extravagant side.

While the spy-actioner has already emerged as the highest Bollywood grosser in preview shows, beating Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor’s “Stree 2” with still 10 days to go, what is grabbing attention is its most expensive and cheapest ticket price range and the huge difference between them.

The costliest ticket of Dhurandhar 2 is in Mumbai at INOX Megaplex, where a single Recliner Prime seat is of ₹2900. On the other hand, the cheapest ticket is in Chennai’s AGS Cinemas, where a seat in the Pearl category costs just ₹59.

The most interesting thing right now is that the tickets of “Dhurandhar 2” are getting booked rapidly, even in the southern markets, due to its unprecedented craze.

Speaking about the “Dhurandhar 2” across the country, veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh had told Variety India, “That's a great signal that people are ready to watch a film on the big screen. They are booking tickets at a very feverish pace, which indicates a couple of things. One, Bollywood is not dead. Bollywood came back with a bang last year, of course, with many other films, but also with ‘Dhurandhar’ coming in and doing unheard of business, smashing even ‘Pushpa’’s record, becoming the highest ever grossing Hindi film ever in India. And then, now, after a couple of months from December to now, March, the second part is coming. And I'm sure you've seen the advance booking craze for the film. I mean, it is the film that the tickets are selling faster than hot cakes. And I think that's all that matters. Because eventually, box office validation is the ultimate validation.”

Emphasizing the point that the cinegoers are booking the tickets despite the high price due to the massive anticipation and craze, he added, “The highlight is that it's not the normal ₹200-₹300 ticket. These are exorbitant, super blockbuster rates that are selling like hot cakes. So, you can just imagine this will be breaking all records of paid preview sales, ever. From paid previews themselves, the record- breaking spree begins."

Directed by Aditya Dhar, “Dhurandhar 2” also stars R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, among others.
