‘Dhurandhar 2’ Box-Office: Ranveer Singh-starrer Beats First Weekend Collections of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s 5 Films in North America Advance Sales

Ranveer Singh-starrer is currently turning out to be a global box-office phenomenon. While the spy-actioner is achieving new milestones in the paid-preview shows at the domestic market, it is also shattering records of Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor’s biggies in the North American market in its advance sales.

The Aditya Dhar-directed film has grossed $2.8 million for the first weekend through its advance sales in North America (USA/Canada), as per Venky Box Office. With just pre-bookings, it has beaten the opening weekend of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor’s biggies like “Raees” ($1.79 million), “Dilwale” ($1.92 million), “My Name Is Khan” ($1.94 million), “Happy New Year” ($1.99 million), “Chennai Express” ($2.22 million), “Tiger Zinda Hai” ($1.78 million), “Sultan” ($2.37 million),” Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” ($2.42 million), “Tiger 3” (), “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” ($2.44 million), “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” ($2.19 million) and “Sanju” ($2.72 million).

With a week left before release, “Dhurandhar 2” is on track to outpace “Dangal” ($ 3.24 million), “Dhoom 3” ($3.42 million), and “PK” ($3.56 million), aiming for a top 5 spot among Bollywood first weekend grossers in North America.

Talking about the Indian market, “Dhurandhar 2” is already the biggest Bollywood paid-preview grosser and is on the verge of beating Pawan Kalyan’s “They Call Him OG” to become the biggest Indian film in pre-screening sales.

Also starring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera and Danish Pandor, among others, the film is bankrolled by Aditya Dhar, Lokesh Dhar and Jyoti Deshpande under the banners of B62 Studios and Jio Studios. It is set to have a grand release on March 19.
