‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: Bullseye Returns, Fisk Tightens His Grip and a Major Netflix-Era Callback Lands Hard
“Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2 had a slower start than many expected, and that has been fans’ biggest complaint. But if Episode 4 is anything to go by, Disney+ has finally hit the accelerator. Titled “Gloves Off,” the latest chapter opens with an eerie calm, spirals into chaos and ends with revelations that significantly raise the stakes. There is a lot to unpack here, but what stands out most is how confidently the episode leans into the DNA of the original Netflix series.
With brutal fight sequences, a bold flashback and a whole lot of Bullseye, here are the biggest highlights from Episode 4 of “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2.
Bullseye Turns Breakfast Into a Bloodbath
The episode opens with Dex, aka Bullseye, moving through a disturbingly calm morning routine as if everything is perfectly normal. He makes breakfast, tidies his bed, stretches out, greets his neighbor and even feeds her cat before heading to a diner. There, over a banana milkshake, he quietly sets a trap by calling the police and falsely reporting Frank Castle’s presence. The moment the AVTF agents arrive, the calm snaps. What follows is one of the episode’s most brutal set pieces as Bullseye turns the diner into a killing floor, using forks, knives and toothpicks with terrifying precision and barely breaking a sweat.

Karen and Kirsten Move Deeper Into Fisk’s Web
Following the prison breakout and ship explosion from Episode 3, Daredevil and Karen take the rescued civilians to a secret hideout, where Karen begins recording testimonies about their wrongful imprisonment. Angela then offers to carry the footage to someone who can spread the truth, despite Karen’s hesitation. Before she can leave, Matt senses someone outside and discovers the first mate from the sunken ship, who reveals Fisk had ordered the vessel to be destroyed if it was ever infiltrated. While Matt goes after Bullseye, Karen turns to Kirsten for legal help, only to find her office torn apart by the AVTF, who are searching for Jacque Duquesne.
Vanessa Proves She May Be Fisk’s Real Power Player
Vanessa and Fisk begin the episode with separate agendas and visible tension simmering beneath the surface. While Fisk prepares for his boxing match, Vanessa heads into a crucial meeting with the governor and makes it clear she has little interest in his latest public spectacle. But where Fisk handles threats with violence behind closed doors, Vanessa proves far more effective in the political arena. In a surprisingly smooth exchange, she wins over the governor by presenting herself not just as Fisk’s wife, but as someone who understands power, loyalty and the city’s future. By the end of it, Vanessa emerges as perhaps the more persuasive and dangerous half of the partnership.
Matt Tracks Bullseye to a Brutal Near-showdown
With Angela stealing AVTF gear, Matt slips into the diner disguised as one of Fisk’s men and begins piecing together Bullseye’s massacre. Among the wreckage, he finds a token linked to Clinton Church, leading him back to a place from his own past. There, after pushing a priest for answers, Matt tracks Dex to a nearby apartment and the two finally collide in another savage fight. Their hatred for each other, especially Matt’s rage over Foggy, turns the encounter deeply personal. But just as it spirals, Dex uses his neighbor as leverage, claims he wants Fisk dead too, and manages to slip away again.
Fisk’s Victory Night Turns Into a Full-Blown Power Display
Back at the hideout, Karen and Kirsten record the first mate’s confession, finally getting him to state that Fisk had ordered the ship to be sunk if it was ever infiltrated. While they prepare to place him under U.S. Marshals protection, Angela’s prison footage quietly begins making its way to BB. Elsewhere, Fisk steps into the ring for his heavily guarded boxing spectacle and turns it into a grotesque show of dominance, crushing his opponent with ease as Buck simultaneously has the first mate and both Marshals killed. By the time Vanessa arrives ringside, Fisk has everything he wants in the room: power, spectacle, blood and an audience ready to cheer him for it.
