BTS Shares A Sneak Peek Of ‘2.0’ Music Video; Fans Reminded Of Agust D’s ‘Haegeum’
BTS has made its comeback after military service with their fifth studio album, "ARIRANG." While it is doing well on the music charts, the reactions to the album were quite extreme. Many felt it did not match the claim of being a representation of the band's Korean roots. The usage of English has come under a lot of scrutiny. After the music video for "SWIM," which is the title track, they unveiled the teaser for the video of "2.0." BTS members had confirmed that they have filmed more videos for the tracks in "ARIRANG."
The teaser opens with a shot where we can see a group of gangsters. It is very reminiscent of the Korean crime movies or the 90s Hong Kong action films.
The video starts with a shot of the gangsters who seem embroiled in an argument. The lift opens and we see the BTS members. RM (real name: Kim Namjoon) has a hairstyle, which is similar to The Beatles era. The retro vibe of the teaser is being much appreciated by fans. We can hear Mike Will Made-It (real name: Michael Len Williams II) in the background. He is an American music producer who is a major contributor in "ARIRANG."
Bao Nguyen, the Vietnamese-American filmmaker filmed the comeback documentary of the band for Netflix. He had hinted that they have shot for more music videos, including one for "Hooligan." So far, tracks like "Hooligan," "Like Animals," "2.0" and "FYA," are getting more attention. BTS members did a group promotion on "The Jimmy Fallon Show," where they performed at The Guggenheim Museum in New York City.
