‘Bridgerton’ Season 5: Francesca And Michaela’s Relationship Takes Centrestage; Fans Say, ‘Love Is Love Is Love’

“Bridgerton” Season 5 has already gone on the floors. Fans of the series still cannot get over the fourth season that gave us the love story of Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). The video announcement of season five was made today and it is a bit of a surprise. Fans were wondering if they would give us the love story of Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie).

However, it seems the makers will be presenting the romance between Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza). In the series, Francesca and Michaela become friends after the death of John Stirling who was Francesca’s husband.

This will be the first Sapphic/Women Love Women concept in the “Bridgerton” series. In season four, we saw how Benedict confessed that he had been intimate with both men and women to Sophie. The announcement video also hints that part of the new season might be filmed in Scotland, as Lord Stirling was Scottish. While Francesca was a devoted wife to John, the spark was missing in their marriage. They have also done a photoshoot with Hannah Dodd and Masali Baduza. The series is known for its diverse casting. Masali is a South African actress who studied in the US. Before “Bridgerton”, she was on the BBC drama, “Noughts + Crosses.”

This has left fans of Eloise (Claudia Jessie) a tad disappointed. They have left comments for the makers to bring back Sir Phillip Crane (Chris Fulton) who becomes the future love interest of Eloise. Some also wanted a side plot of Eloise as she is slowly interested in settling down. She was attracted to Theo Sharpe (Calam Lynch) in the previous seasons. Josh Burnwell had earlier said that they might consider a spin-off of Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) and Lord Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis).
